Can you believe it took me 2 years of using the same subway stop every day to realize that it’s across the street from the Chrysler Building?!?!? Talk about not taking the time to look around. Every morning I’d rush up the subway stairs, make a quick left on the sidewalk, head down, and speed walk the 8 blocks to work.
What else have I overlooked with my tunnel vision? There’s always something to see and absorb in this city. The fact that I missed out on 700+ days to peer up at the Chrysler Building, and feel caught up in the spirit of New York, is punishment enough. New resolution: Pay Attention.
